Originating from the French West-indies and raised in Paris – France, Fabrice was studying computer science, when he realized his passion was filmmaking, he stopped right dead and changed his major. After graduation from Nicholls State University in Thibodeaux, Louisiana – USA, he worked as an AD on several music videos, commercials, and films. He honed his skills working in New York, London and finally returning home to Paris. He soon began directing everything around the world, from live concerts to TV shows and commercials to Music Videos.
In the meantime, he wrote, shoot and directed his first short film: ” Tremens “. Then, he wrote ” the Guard ” (Le Gardien) which won in 2004, the HOHOA award of the best script at The Cannes film festival Critics week. This fantasy tale was then selected and screened to The Cannes film festival Critics week in 2006. The Guard won afterward other numerous awards in international film festivals.
In 2009, Eric BESNARD turns to Fabrice to do the Behind-the-scene video and featurettes of “In Gold We Trust “, entirely shot in the Amazonian forest. In 2011-2012, he wrote “Influence”, a political thriller TV series.
Mid 2016, Fabrice wrote and directed his first English speaking film Lost Souls. His third short feature deals with depression and takes place at 90% in a London black Cab. It’s a thrilling story about a maniac depressed taxi driver lost in his own mind and in his own city.
At present, Fabrice is directing commercials and music videos while developing his first full-length feature film ” Sugarcane Flower “, a period drama taking place in the thirties, an entertainment movie mixing jazz and Latin music. “Sugarcane Flower” script was selected in several workshops and international film festivals: Strasbourg Rhineland Co-production workshop in 2012. “Plume et pellicule” in Switzerland, May 2013, the International Feature film project selection at the French Scriptwriters guild’s house in Cannes 2013 but also at the AFM “meet your match” in November 2013 and November 2014 in Los Angeles, prize-winner at “Write Movies” (USA) in June, 2014 and finally winner of the European Scriptwriting program residency at AWE in Berlin early 2017.
